From its humble beginnings in the 1940’s the Dobson family has always had its roots planted in Atlantic Canada business.
Although originally founded on trucking, today’s Dobson Group’s focus is firmly on retailing. In 1973 Leisure Time Sales Ltd was founded to sell Cygnet travel trailers and, under the direction of Danny and Derek Dobson, the company grew to one of Atlantic Canada’s largest RV Dealerships. In 1989, with the acquisition of the local Chrysler dealership, Dobson Chrysler Dodge was formed and the two companies became the foundation of the family’s business growth.
David rejoined the family business in 1991 and took over the reigns of RV World in Fredericton, quickly establishing itself with the local RV clientele. Today, brothers Danny, Derek & David oversee the Dobson Group which owns and operates RV Dealerships in Saint John, Fredericton and Moncton, Chrysler Automotive Dealerships in both Saint John and Sussex and is now pleased to be branching further out into the Real Estate and property development area with Oakhill Homes. In partnership with Prestige Homes, the Dobson Group is excited to be able to bring to Fredericton the high quality homes Prestige has been famous for in other parts of the Maritimes. |
